Welding

This competency-based course provides students with foundational knowledge of manufacturing processes, metal properties, and safe equipment operation for oxyfuel, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW). Students will use virtual reality to practice oxyfuel cutting, SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW techniques and perform welds to current industry standards. Welding symbols will be used to interpret detailed fabrication drawings.

Upon completion, students will have the work-related knowledge and skills needed for careers in welding, earn a digital badge in welding, and be better prepared for the Welding Certification Exam.
