This is a fully online, self-paced course designed for high school students. In United States History II, students explore the development of modern America from the late Industrial Revolution to the present day. Topics include industrialization, the Progressive Movement, American imperialism, the World Wars, the Great Depression, the Cold War, the Civil Rights Movement, the rise of global terrorism, and contemporary social and political issues. (Semester 1 of 2)

Through critical analysis of historical events, primary and secondary sources, and cause-and-effect relationships, students will strengthen their historical thinking skills while making meaningful connections between past events and their lives today. This course encourages students to understand how historical developments continue to shape modern America and their role within it.

This version of the course is designed for independent learning and is not teacher supported or graded. Parents have the ability to grade assignments, view answer keys, and provide feedback to their child.

We also offer this course as an Accredited Course that includes an official transcript and earned credit, or as an Accredited Course with Mentor Teacher, which adds a dedicated teacher who provides grading, feedback, and ongoing support to guide your student’s success.
