This fully online, self-paced middle school course provides an introduction to the study of human society and social behavior. Students explore and compare social groups and institutions, examining how they interact and influence one another. Topics include culture, socialization, deviance, stratification, race, ethnicity, social change, and collective behavior. Through this course, students gain a deeper understanding of the social structures that shape our lives and the world around us.
This version of the course is designed for independent learning and is not teacher supported or graded. Parents have the ability to grade assignments, view answer keys, and provide feedback to their child.
We also offer this course as an Accredited Course that includes an official transcript and earned credit, or as an Accredited Course with Mentor Teacher, which adds a dedicated teacher who provides grading, feedback, and ongoing support to guide your student’s success.
