This is a fully online, self-paced independent reading course. Students choose the books they want to read, allowing them to explore a variety of genres and topics that interest them. Through a series of open-ended assignments and projects, students focus on critical reading, comprehension, and metacognition, reflecting on their thinking processes as they engage with texts. Assignments may include written responses, discussions, and creative book projects, all designed to deepen understanding and encourage thoughtful analysis. This course supports students in developing confidence and independence as readers while fostering a lifelong love of reading (Semester 1 of 1).
This version of the course is designed for independent learning and is not teacher supported or graded. Parents have the ability to grade assignments, view answer keys, and provide feedback to their child.
We also offer this course as an Accredited Course that includes an official transcript and earned credit, or as an Accredited Course with Mentor Teacher, which adds a dedicated teacher who provides grading, feedback, and ongoing support to guide your student’s success.
