This is a fully online, self-paced course. Medical Terminology introduces high school students to the language of healthcare and medicine. Students will learn the structure and meaning of medical terms, including prefixes, suffixes, root words, and abbreviations used in clinical settings. Emphasis is placed on proper spelling, pronunciation, and understanding of terminology related to body systems, common diseases, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. (Semester 1 of 1)
Through engaging lessons and practical activities, students will build confidence in interpreting medical vocabulary and applying terminology in real-world healthcare scenarios. This course provides a strong foundation for students interested in careers in healthcare, nursing, sports medicine, emergency services, or other medical fields.
This version of the course is designed for independent learning and is not teacher supported or graded. Parents have the ability to grade assignments, view answer keys, and provide feedback to their child.
