Grade 4 Science with Special Education Support for Parents - Semester 2

This self-paced, online course introduces fourth-grade students to fundamental scientific concepts in life, physical, and earth science. Students explore ecosystems, properties of matter, forms of energy, weather and climate, and the solar system through interactive lessons and hands-on activities. The course emphasizes observation, inquiry, and the use of evidence to understand scientific phenomena. Designed to encourage curiosity and critical thinking, students build skills in experimentation, data collection, and analysis within a flexible, engaging learning environment.

Parents of neurodivergent learners are supported through a dedicated online platform providing expert guidance and practical resources. They gain insight into their child’s learning needs, including diagnoses such as autism, dyslexia, intellectual disability, or ADHD, and receive strategies aligned with visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learning styles. The platform includes at-home activities to strengthen fine and gross motor skills that support experiments, note-taking, and other academic tasks.

Parents also receive adaptive strategies to support scientific understanding and academic growth at their child’s own pace. Accessible educational tools, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), help customize instruction for each learner. Families have access to downloadable resources, a supportive community, and ongoing professional guidance throughout the course.
