Grade 2 Science with Special Education Support for Parents - Semester 1

This self-paced, online course introduces second-grade students to foundational concepts in life, earth, and physical science. Students explore plants and animals, weather and seasons, matter and its properties, and simple forces and motion through interactive lessons and hands-on activities. The course encourages curiosity, observation, and basic scientific inquiry, helping students ask questions and make predictions about the world around them. Designed for flexible learning, students develop a strong foundation in science at their own pace.

Parents of neurodivergent learners are supported through a dedicated online platform offering expert guidance and practical resources. Parents gain insight into their child’s unique learning needs, including diagnoses such as autism, dyslexia, intellectual disability, or ADHD, and learn strategies aligned with visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learning styles. The platform provides at-home activities to strengthen fine and gross motor skills, supporting science exploration, recording observations, and other academic tasks.

Parents also receive respectful, adaptive strategies to nurture their child’s scientific curiosity and academic growth. Accessible educational tools, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), help personalize instruction for each learner. Families have access to downloadable resources, a supportive community, and ongoing professional guidance throughout the course.
