Biotechnology

This competency-based course provides students with a solid foundation in biotechnology. Through interactive videos and virtual reality, students will explore career paths, research methods, data analysis, laboratory safety, and proper use of laboratory equipment. Key topics include Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), DNA structure and replication, DNA purification, and solution preparation.

Students will practice using micropipettes, serological pipettes, spectrophotometers, and creating molar solutions in a virtual lab environment, applying their knowledge in a hands-on way.

Upon completion, students will gain work-related knowledge and skills for careers in biotechnology, earn a digital badge in Biotechnology, and be better prepared for the Biotechnology Certification Exam.
