9th Grade Language Arts with Mentor Teacher Support - Semesters 1 & 2

This is a fully online, self-paced Language Arts course designed for 9th grade students. This covers the full-year, including Semester 1 and Semester 2.

Students explore the four core areas outlined by the Common Core State Standards: reading literature, reading nonfiction, writing, and speaking and listening. Reading instruction emphasizes citing textual evidence, identifying main ideas and themes, analyzing characters, interpreting words, and understanding text structures and perspectives. The writing component focuses on argument, informative/explanatory, and narrative genres. Students will also engage in discussions, use digital media, and practice public speaking to present their ideas effectively.
