This 8th Grade Science course is designed for eighth-grade students and spans an entire academic year. The course builds on knowledge and skills developed in previous science courses by introducing and explaining physical science concepts. Using scientific processes, protocols, and tools, including inquiry-based approaches, students explore structures, patterns, and relationships within the physical sciences. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, collaboration, accuracy, and communication skills to help students refine their scientific literacy.
This course includes instructional practices that integrate diversity awareness and appreciation for cultural contributions to our society. Successful completion of this course fulfills the eighth-grade science requirement. This covers the full-year, including Semester 1 and Semester 2.
