This is a fully online, self-paced course. In this course, students explore what it means to be an active and informed citizen. They learn how the U.S. government was formed, how it functions today, and how citizens can make a difference. Topics include the Constitution, the branches of government, elections, rights and responsibilities, and the role of media and interest groups. Through interactive lessons, activities, and projects, students gain a deeper understanding of how citizens help shape their communities and nation.
This version of the course is designed for independent learning and is not teacher supported or graded. Parents have the ability to grade assignments, view answer keys, and provide feedback to their child.
We also offer this course as an Accredited Course that includes an official transcript and earned credit, or as an Accredited Course with Mentor Teacher, which adds a dedicated teacher who provides grading, feedback, and ongoing support to guide your student’s success.
