Accredited 5th Grade Reading - Semester 1

This is a fully online, self-paced Fifth Grade Reading course. Students learn to read, speak, and write Standard English while developing skills to comprehend and evaluate literature. Areas addressed include listening and oral language, reading and literature comprehension, reference skills, writing and composition, grammar and mechanics, vocabulary, and spelling.

The goals of the reading program are to instill a love of reading in all students by introducing engaging texts and authors. Students explore different purposes for reading through a variety of subgenres, worksheets, hands-on projects, and art activities. State standards are adhered to in this course and are noted in the unit overviews.

This is our Accredited Course version, which includes an official transcript and earned credit. This course is designed for independent learning and is not teacher supported or graded. Parents have the ability to grade assignments, view answer keys, and provide feedback to their child. This course represents Semester 1 of 2 semesters.

We also offer this course as an Accredited Course with Mentor Teacher, which adds a dedicated teacher who provides grading, feedback, and ongoing support to guide your student’s success.
