This is a fully online, self-paced Second Grade Social Studies course. Students learn to navigate the world around them by developing map skills and recognizing symbols and landmarks. They gain financial literacy skills and explore the concept of community, including the development of cultures, systems of governance, how communities and cultures interconnect locally and globally, and how the world around them has changed over time. Students also learn about individual rights and responsibilities, as well as opportunities for active participation in community life.
This version of the course is designed for independent learning and is not teacher supported or graded. Parents have the ability to grade assignments, view answer keys, and provide feedback to their child. This course represents Semester 1 of 2 semesters.
We also offer this course as an Accredited Course, which includes an official transcript and earned credit, or as an Accredited Course with Mentor Teacher, which adds a dedicated teacher who provides grading, feedback, and ongoing support to guide your student’s success.
