Accredited 2nd Grade Reading - Semesters 1 & 2

This is a fully online, self-paced Second Grade Reading course. Students develop the skills needed to become effective readers and writers, as well as listening and speaking skills. Areas addressed include decoding, phonemic awareness, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, writing and composition skills, spelling, grammar and mechanics, and study skills.

The goals of the reading program are to instill a love of reading in all students by introducing engaging texts and authors. Students explore different purposes for reading through a variety of subgenres, worksheets, hands-on projects, and art activities. State standards are adhered to in this course and are noted in the unit overviews.

This is our Accredited Course version, which includes an official transcript and earned credit. This course is designed for independent learning and is not teacher supported or graded. Parents have the ability to grade assignments, view answer keys, and provide feedback to their child. This course covers the full year, including Semester 1 and Semester 2.

We also offer this course as an Accredited Course with Mentor Teacher, which adds a dedicated teacher who provides grading, feedback, and ongoing support to guide your student’s success.
