1st Grade Reading with Mentor Teacher Support - Semester 1 & 2

This is a fully online, self-paced First Grade Reading course. Students develop listening and oral language skills, writing skills, and the foundational skills needed to become effective readers. Areas addressed include phonemic awareness, decoding, structural analysis, vocabulary development, reading and literature skills, study skills, pre-writing and composition skills, spelling, and handwriting.

The goals of the reading program are to instill a love of reading in all students by introducing engaging texts and authors. Students explore different purposes for reading through a variety of subgenres, worksheets, hands-on projects, and art activities. State standards are adhered to in this course and are noted in the unit overviews.

This is our Accredited Course with Mentor Teacher Support, which includes an official transcript and earned credit. A dedicated teacher provides grading, feedback, and ongoing support to guide your student’s success. This course covers the full year, including Semester 1 and Semester 2.

Parents can still participate by reviewing assignments, viewing answer keys, and providing additional feedback to their child.
