12th Grade Language Arts with Mentor Teacher Support - Semesters 1 & 2

This is a fully online, self-paced Language Arts course designed for 12th-grade students. This covers the full-year, including Semester 1 and Semester 2.

Students will explore British literature while developing skills in the four core areas outlined by the Common Core State Standards: reading literature, reading nonfiction, writing, and speaking and listening. Reading instruction emphasizes citing textual evidence, analyzing characters, identifying themes and main ideas, understanding vocabulary, and interpreting text structure and point of view. Writing assignments focus on argument, informative/explanatory, and narrative genres. Students will engage in discussions, create digital media presentations, and practice public speaking to communicate their understanding effectively.
