10th Grade Language Arts - Semester 2

This is a fully online, self-paced Language Arts course designed for 10th grade students. (Semester 2 of 2)

Students will explore world literature while developing skills in the four core areas outlined by the Common Core State Standards: reading literature, reading nonfiction, writing, and speaking and listening. Reading instruction emphasizes citing textual evidence, analyzing characters, identifying themes and main ideas, understanding vocabulary, and interpreting text structure and point of view. Writing assignments focus on argument, informative/explanatory, and narrative genres. Students will engage in discussions, create presentations, and use digital media to showcase their understanding and insights.

This version of the course is designed for independent learning and is not teacher supported or graded. Parents have the ability to grade assignments, view answer keys, and provide feedback to their child.

We also offer this course as an Accredited Course that includes an official transcript and earned credit, or as an Accredited Course with Mentor Teacher, which adds a dedicated teacher who provides grading, feedback, and ongoing support to guide your student’s success.
